Your (your child) score on MOEMS Test #3 + Calendar + Registration, etc

  • If your child is in 9th grade or higher and then he/she is not qualified for the Third MOEMS. (Test 3 Scores)

  • Thank you if you have already registered for winter terms, otherwise, please register this Saturday.

  • AAMOC intermediate physics class started last week in room 243. Class starts at 10:40 AM. We will take care of registration for this class after a couple weeks of trying and we need parents as well as students input on an incentive reward event. Some students would like to go to Cedar Point. This cannot be done unless we get many parents supporting the event.

  • Lastly, when we have to cancel classes due to weather situation, we post a sign on our website  www.aamoc.org by 7:30 AM. Please do not call me except for emergencies.  As of now we plan to hold classes this Saturday (Jan 21, 2012) although snow is in the weather forecast for next 24 hours.

MOEMS Test # 3 will be offered this Saturday (Jan 14th)

Introduction to Geometry by Richard Rusczyk  (ISBN: 978-1-934124-08-6) is a required textbook for all Level II and III classes.  Level III students must have the book from last year. http://www.artofproblemsolving.com/Store/viewitem.php?item=intro:geometry

  • Book list price is $51+ shipping cost.   AAMOC plans to order the book for all students to lower the cost.
  • Prepaid Discount Price: $45 ($50 later on if available)

Please register for winter term (starts Jan 21).

  • AAMOC cost share: $45*
  • Ann Arbor Public School building cost share: $15

*AAMOC offers no question asked NEED based partial scholarship.  The scholarship is for AAMOC fee ONLY and it does NOT include AAPS cost.    It is an honor process (member contributes whatever he/she can afford, and member privacy is protected).

Check is the prefered method of payment (payable to AAMOC).   Please PRINT student name on the check.

All students who are interested in intermediate physics should report to room 243 at 10:35.   Intermediate Physics class will be established if there are enough students.

Have Classes this Sat Dec 17, Ice Skating on Sunday Dec 18, MOEMS and AMC tests

Next Class:

AAMOC will hold classes at normal scheduled time on Saturday December 17, 2011.

Celebration:( No form no T shirt no Skating )

AAMOC would like to celebrate student achievement and reward them for their hard work with a family fun day at Ann Arbor Ice Cube.   Please bring your entire family to celebrate.  Please be on time; otherwise you will lose skating time.   Please bring signed release form. (Field Trip Waiver) All students must wear AAMOC T shirt at this event. 

Event: Ice Skating and Food (Pizza, Salad, Drink and ?)

  • When: 12:30 -3:30 PM on Sunday , Dec 18th (Ice Rink 1:00 -2:20, Food at 2:30).
  • Where: Ann Arbor Ice Cube - 2121 Oak Valley Drive  Ann Arbor, MI 48108 Telephone: (734) 213-1600
  • Cost: None for AAMOC students, Sibling and Parents:  $5.00/person for ice skating (discounted), and $4.00/person for all food and drink ($3.00 for 5-12 year olds, free for under 5 years old).
  • Need several persons to help with moving material and preparing food on Sunday.  Please see me on Saturday.

MOEMS  Test #2

The M test was very challenging. Teachers will go over the test in class. Students should be aware that these tests are Olympiad problems and they can be very difficult.  (our group scores)

AMC 8

Some 40 AAMOC students took the test at AAMOC. Thank you to students for participation and to parents for supporting students. Other AAMOC students may have take the test at other locations. Congratulation to Swaraj (7th grader) for scoring 23 out of 25!  Students can find out their score from their teachers. (our group scores)

Together, we make AAMOC the best volunteer organization in town!

Happy New Year to all AAMOC students, volunteers and families.

  1. No AAMOC Classes on this Saturday (Jan 7, 2012)
  2. MOEMS Test #3 will be offered on Saturday Jan 14th.
  3. If there are enough students we can start Intermediate Physics for  students in 7th grade above.   If interested (students and parents), please report to Room 208 at 10:40 AM on Saturday Jan 14th.
  4. Saturday Jan 14th is the last day of the first semester. Please register for winter term. Students in level II need a Geometry textbook for the second semester.  Please bring a check for registration fee and deposit for Geometry textbook (discounted price if prepaid).

Dear AAMOC Members:

  1. AAMOC appreciate students hard work and celebrate their success by setting up fun events.  This year fun event will be on Sunday December 18th at Ann Arbor Ice Cube. Please mark your calendar from Noon to 4:00 for ice skating and pizza (around 2:30 PM).   This is a family event (means sibling and parents can ice skate at discount rate charged to AAMOC).  Details will be provided later.   We need several volunteers to help on that day.
