A2CT has agreed to allow AAMOC students to see the Phantom Tollbooth play during their last rehearsal for $2 to $3 contribution per person.

Actors are elementary and middle school students and play is about 75 minutes.

When:  5:30-7:30 PM on Tuesday May 15, 2012 (This is their last rehearsal)

Where:  Washtenaw Community College in Crane Liberal Art Building (College Theater)

Cost:   $2-$3 Contribution to A2CT

The play will open to public later in the week.  See flyer or check www.a2ct.org  website.

WHY TO SEE the play:

1. Enjoy a play at a very low cost (AAMOC does not receive any money and attendee pay directly to A2CT which is a non-profit organization).  I guarantee students and their parents will have a great time (A2CT Junior play is often sold out).

2. AAMOC students will notice some leadership skills

  • Young actors in the play are responsible for managing their own role (Independent, there is no queue and help once they are on the stage)
  • Young actors manage their time to change costume between scenes (they also arrive early to be on time)
  • Young actors are not afraid of trying and they do their best
  • Young actors are problem solvers – if something goes wrong on the stage they will fix it on their own such that audience do not even notice – The show must go on.

3.  AAMOC has been trying to arrange for similar event last year however the schedule did not work.   The only regret is that the production director Jenny Koerra will not be in town on May 15th to talk to our students.

Mohammad Hassani -

Dear AAMOC members

Important Reminder:   Please share it with you children.

  1. Attendance and Active Participation:
AAMOC teachers would like to highlight the importance of attendance and active participation and remind students and their families on their pledge at the time of registration.   Teachers have been taking attendance and plan to enforce all agreed upon rules.

  2. Notebook & Binder:
Teachers would also like to emphasize the importance of students practicing organizational skill through maintaining a good notebook, and a binder.   Students must have well maintained notebook and binder as one of the conditions for receiving the $20.00 gift card.   Each teacher will inform his/her class on the notebook and binder expectation.   At the very minimum, each student MUST have AAMOC calendar, AAMOC rules, all homework and all tests well organized in their binder. Student Teachers will review students' notebooks and binder in the coming weeks to provide all students every opportunity to catch up on this item.

  3. Exam (June 9):
There will be a test on the last day of classes for all students to provide their families with a measure of students' progress and advancement determination.

  4. End of the Year Ceremony (June 9; 11:00-2:00):
It will be on last day of classes.  Please mark it on your calendar and ATTEND to respect volunteers for their time and effort as agreed on the first day of classes.

By working together, we make AAMOC the best volunteer organization in town to teach the community children.

Regards,

Mohammad Hassani
